Touringo

UX/UI Design

Touringo is a language-learning app and translation tool for travellers arriving Australia. The app also allows users to pick up practical phrases and slang on the go to provide an immersive experience.

Research about language apps and surveys were conducted before ideation and brainstorming of concepts and ideas for the app. User journeys and empathy maps were created to understand the target audience. Low-fi wireframing and user testing were also done in order to make improvements before creating the hi-fi prototype in Figma.

WEAV

UX/UI Design

WEAV is a women-only electrically-powered autonomous vehicle ride-share service that functions on a carpooling basis. A future-focused inclusive design solution with women’s safety as a priority.

This project was done in response to a brief about making mobility accessible for an Inclusive Design studio class. Research about women's safety were done, including case studies about gender-segregated transport in other countries and ride-sharing services for women only. We established a target audience from research findings and came up with empathy maps and user profiles. Ideation and brainstorming of concepts and ideas for the app were done before moving onto low-fi wireframes. User testing experiments were conducted to adjust and improve UI aspects before creating the hi-fi prototype in Figma.

Companions 4 Companions

Web Design / Net Art

Companions 4 Companions is a net art piece inspired by early Geocities webpages that pet-owners made for their pets. Using aesthetics of 90s web nostalgia, this pet-dating website explores the innocence, sense of community, and the expression of self through code during the dawn of the Internet.
The concept also ties into the custom of marketing the self online to find love. Profiles featured were from online submissions.

Pitchspoon

Web Design

Pitchspoon (play on Pitchfork) is a maximalist music review site to host journal entries about music by myself and my friend Amy. Customised cursors and interactive elements like rotating CDs that link to the music mentioned in each entry to create a dynamic experience.

Constellations of Ecologies

Constellations of Ecologies is a net-art piece materialised from concepts about rituals we perform with our technology, and the perceptions, feelings, and emotional bonds derive from it. It depicts an ecosystem made with ASCII art of the bridging of nature and tech that lives in a void or gap on the Internet.
